It's pretty much agreed that when you drive your car to the Taco Bell order window, you're not there for your health.
But, then again, you might be justified in assuming you're getting a "safe" taco. As in, one that's never been licked by a human tongue.
Well, before you head over to your local Taco Bell, you might want to take a second...and third look at the picture of an employee (wearing a uniform) who looks like he's licking a stack of hard taco shells in the prep kitchen.
Now, this could be some prank -- only it was posted on Taco Bell's official Facebook page.
Of course Consumerist notes that the taco shells might have been headed for the garbage. That still doesn't make us feel good about having someone make out with the taco shells. Not at all.
We left a message with Taco Bell media relations, which is probably fielding about a million inquiries about said picture. If we get a response, we'll post it.
Updated: Taco Bell has issued the following statement regarding the picture:
"Nothing is more important than the safety of our customers and team members, and we have strict food handling procedures and zero tolerance for any violations. When we learned of the situation we immediately contacted this restaurant's leadership and although we believe it is a prank and the food was not served to customers, we are conducting a full scale investigation and will be taking swift action against those involved."
