5. Dogs, Beaches, and Brew

Bring your dogs to the beach in Fort Lauderdale (north of Sunrise Blvd.) for a meet-and-mingle even just for dog lovers and their furry friends from 5-7 p.m. The event dubbed "Dogs, Beaches and Brews," will continue at the Parrot Lounge, which is offering free admission (and a free drink with a $5 donation) to support the Everglades Angels Dog Rescue. During the event, participate in a raffle with prizes and a 50/50 drawing. All of the money raised during the event will go directly to the Pompano-based non-profit.

4. Pavilion Grill's Friday Night Buffet

Pavilion Grille's Friday night dinner buffet is back. Starting at 6 p.m., the restaurant will offer a mouth-watering buffet dinner for $29 (tax and gratuity not included). Offerings include a choice of salad, sides, entrees, and dessert. A carving station will feature roasted turkey and beef, as well as pasta and fish entrees. The restaurant's regular dinner menu and happy hour is also available. Live music starts at 8 p.m. Reservations are suggested; call 561-912-0000.

3. Due South's "The Season That Keeps on Giving" Weekend

In the wake of all the Christmas and holiday celebrations, Due South Brewery in Boynton Beach will be hosting a weekend-long event to keep the good times going. The Season That Keeps on Giving will feature special tappings starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Each day will offer something new, including Friday's Coconut Bay Breeze (coconut, cranberry, and pineapple) and Calling All Cars (coffee and donut porter); Kevin's Bacon ale on Saturday; and Scorpion IPA on Sunday. No crowlers will be available for these specialty offerings, so head over to the brewery and drink up while supplies last.

2. Dinner and a Show at Marti's New River Bistro

If dinner and dancing. Dinner and a movie. And then there is dinner and a live show. At Marti's New River Bistro in Fort Lauderdale you can enjoy a prix fixe menu for $36 (plus 20 percent gratuity and tax) for a 3-course dinner, followed by a show at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The meal includes a choice of appetizer, entrée, and signature desserts. The prix fixe priced menu will be in effect from two-and-a-half hours prior to the start of the performance, at which time the menu will be offered at a la carte pricing.

1. Saltwater Brewery One Year Anniversary

From 12 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, December 27, Delray Beach's Saltwater Brewery will be hosting a street-wide one-year anniversary party. The tap list kicking off during the festivities is huge, with beers being released on a rolling basis throughout the day. If you're into barrel-aged beers, it's your lucky day: there will be five of them on tap, including brews aged in wine barrels, and some sours to boot. A couple of collaborations will be released, as well, including one with Sailfish Brewing Company (Fort Pierce) and Tequesta Brewery. In addition to beer there will be live music, and a food pairing competition featuring six restaurants and six breweries. Tickets are on sale now for $25.
