Whole Foods Market is, once again, expanding its presence in South Florida with the opening Wednesday of its newest location, in Pompano Beach.

The 40,100-square-foot Pompano Beach store, located at 2411 N. Federal Highway, will have a vintage, nautical theme with a community room and outdoor seating. The store will feature several exclusive departments and food items, including the La Rachetta Wine & Beer Bar.

Nestled inside the market, this 28-seat wine and beer bar will offer pizza, pasta, and signature meatballs. Those meatballs, by the way, come in six varieties, including Asian, Italian, Indian, Greek, and Mediterranean. Seasonal local beers and local craft kombucha will be available.

If you're looking for a quick dinner fix, this Whole Foods will have an expanded prepared foods department including eight different mac and cheese options and a soup bar will have 15 daily selections to choose from. WFM will also have coffee roasted in-house, fresh sausages, and a full-service coffee and juice bar.

And, just in case you want to stock your yacht or private jet with healthy foods, an in-house personal shopping and yacht provisioning service can assist (of course, they'll also help you choose healthy meal options for your family as well).

Grand-opening festivities will kick off January 28 with a bread-breaking ceremony at 8:45 a.m. Doors will open at 9 a.m., and the first 500 customers in line on opening day will each receive a mystery gift card, worth $5, $10, $20 or $50, with one card valued at $500. In addition, 1 percent of the store's proceeds for the first five days will benefit a local organization. The beneficiaries include Broward Children's Center, Pompano Beach Arts, and the Fruitful Field Community Garden.

Whole Foods Market Pompano Beach will be open Monday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., Sunday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
