Sunday is known as a day of rest.

While there is a portion of the popular that respects the religious traditions of the day, for most South Floridians, it's all about brunch -- hey, it is relaxing.

In a combination of do-gooding and regular old Sunday routine, Rebuilding Together Broward County is hosting a waterfront all-inclusive Tool Box Brunch at Beauty & the Feast.

For $45 per person, the brunch includes an unlimited buffet with all the usual suspects as well as bloody marys and screwdrivers -- gotta have a theme.

The net proceeds of the event benefit Rebuilding Together Broward County. The organization aims to bring volunteers and communities together to improve the homes and lives of those in low-income households. The effects are twofold: Members of the community are involved in worthwhile community service -- and they probably get to learn some useful tips -- by performing home repairs, safety improvements, and neighborhood revitalization while low-income elderly and disabled homeowners as well as veterans receive the assistance they need. The services are provided at no cost to the homeowner.

Sandra Veszi Einhorn, executive director of Rebuilding Together Broward County, notes that in addition to helping a great cause, the event is just as good for networking -- as well as eating and drinking, obviously.

"Brunch is the coolest meal in town these days, so why not brunch and support the community too?" asks Veszi Einhorn.
