Drinking holidays and Irish pubs just go together.

Whether it's St. Paddy's Day, Fourth of July, or the Day of the Battle of Puebla, we like to drink heavily in dark wooden bars with celtic music playing in the background (some things can't be explained).

Our favorite Mexican holiday is coming back around on Monday and Exposed Public Relation's Alysia Naples is hosting a Cinco de Mayo fiesta at McSorley's Irish Pub to raise funds for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Honored as one of Fort Lauderdale's Finest Young Professionals by the Foundation this year, Naples is going green for the day with a charity event at McSorley's -- Cinco de Mayo is her favorite holiday.

Wristbands are $20, which includes a raffle ticket, live music (not Mexican or Irish), and a complimentary cocktail. All proceeds are directly benefitting Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Jonna Pirra, event chair for Fort Lauderdale's Finest Gala nominated Naples and 25 other young professionals as honorees at the gala. Each professional is required to throw a fundraising event on behalf of the Foundation.

"The Gala honors 25 young professionals in the community who exemplify leadership qualities, are active in volunteer roles, and have excelled in the Greater Fort Lauderdale business community," says Pirra. "Alysia Naples is among the most prominent, influential, and successful young professionals in this community. We look forward to congratulating her for her outstanding contributions to the South Florida community, as well as her fundraising commitment to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Because of her care and concern, children's dreams of a cure will soon become a reality!"

The Gala is one of the Foundations largest benefits in South Florida; this year it is hoping to raise over $90,000.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is the world's leader in the search for a cure for the disease. The Foundation funds more cystic fibrosis research than any other organization, and the vast majority of drugs available to treat cystic fibrosis were made possible due to the Foundation's efforts.

It is a nonprofit donor-supported organization aimed at attacking cystic fibrosis from every angle. The focus is to support the development of new drugs to fight the disease, improve the quality of life for those with the disease, and ultimately to find a cure. As much as 90 cents of every dollar raised is invested in vital CF programs.

McSorley's is located at 837 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-565-4446, or visit mcsorleysbeachpub.com
