After over a year of financial difficulties, including a Chapter 7 Bankruptcy, and a property auction, Shooters Waterfront Cafe and Bootleggers have a new owner.

According to the South Florida Business Journal, the two iconic Fort Lauderdale waterfront restaurants were purchased for $7 million by William McIntyre. McIntyre also owns the Grateful Palate. McIntyre purchased the property from FirstBank Puerto Rico.

The adjoining Fort Lauderdale restaurants were auctioned on December 5, 2012 by order of the U.S. Bankruptcy court. FirstBank Puerto Rico won with a $5.3 million bid.

The combined properties have over 20,000 square feet of space on a one acre site, including 340 feet of dockate on the Intracoastal Waterway.

The South Florida Business Journal reports that the location will remain a restaurant and bar, with plans for a "complete renovation and redesign, upgraded facilities, a new al fresco dining area and an enhanced menu."
