It's touted as a "crazy hoppy" double India Pale Ale. Florida Man, a new beer from Cigar City Brewing, seeks to present an homage to the infamous Twitter account.

It's an account that works on so many levels, highlighting the ridiculous amount of bizarre crime that occurs in this state in addition to poking fun at the way news stories write their headlines. It's a win-win.

Now, the Tampa brewery is brewing its Florida Man beer to send out into the world (it was previously a draft only release), to be found in 22-ounce bombers across the state.

But what makes Florida Man tick? Hops. Lots and lots of hops.

"The beer has Chinook, Pacific Jade, Summit, CTZ, Mosaic, ADHA 529, Citra, Equinox, and Azacca," explained head brewer Wayne Wambles. He describes it as a very tropical DIPA.

Must. Find. Bottles.

Unfortunately, only a "small amount" has made its way into distribution, so those seeking to get their hands on a bottle should keep an eye out at their favorite small and friendly beer store. Or drive a few hours out to Tampa and purchase bottles for $9 a piece in the Cigar City taproom.
