Just in time for Mother's Day, Hoffman's Chocolates has opened a shop in Plantation.

The 1,280-square-foot chocolate shop is located in the Fountains Shopping Center at 801 S. University Drive and features an updated look for the candy company. Hoffman's, with headquarters in Greenacres, just to the north, opened the Plantation location as part of an ongoing expansion into the Broward market. The chocolate maker opened a location on East Las Olas Boulevard last fall, and the Hollywood shop, at Park Sheridan Plaza, will undergo a remodel in the near future. The company plans to open more locations in Broward and also has four stores in Palm Beach County and one in Stuart.

It's basically a full-scale chocolate invasion.
"We are thrilled to join the Plantation community and continue expanding our legendary brand in Broward County," says Chuck Mohr, president of Hoffman's Chocolates. "Our new location at the Fountains will be a true family destination for adults and children. We look forward to being part of the community and excited to make life sweeter for the residents."

The company, which holds legendary holiday events at its headquarters, offers more than 70 different types of chocolates including double-dipped chocolate-covered pretzels and cookies, chocolate-covered strawberries, and coconut cashew crunch. The new Fountains location will also serve 24 different ice cream flavors ranging classic chocolate and vanilla to cotton candy and dulce de leche cheesecake.

The hours for Hoffman's Chocolates in Plantation will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

On Saturday, May 30, the shop will host a grand-opening event, beginning with a ribbon-cutting at 11 a.m. and continuing with family activities and free samples until 4 p.m. Those present will also have a chance to win a year's supply of Hoffman’s Chocolates (up to a $625 value) by signing up for the Hoffman’s Chocolates newsletter during the grand-opening celebration at the Fountains.
