Cover bands often play like they really believe imitation is the most sincere form of flattery. You know, the bar bands who try to put the serious overdrive in Bachman Turner Overdrive when they rock out to "Takin’ Care of Business." Massachusetts glam rock fanatic Lord Russ, however, will undoubtedly put a more unique spin on his new album of covers Have You Heard?. The new record will include his take on songs by The Moody Blues, Donovan, and solo Beatles cuts.

His last original album — 2013’s Heir of Mystery — on which Lord Russ reportedly played every instrument himself, seemed to come from the same planet or at the very least same solar system as Ziggy Stardust. It is a fun, cosmic delivery that one can only hope will make the odyssey with Lord Russ as he transports this evening to the Living Room in Boynton Beach to bring new life to some moldy oldies.

Lord Russ plays an 8 p.m. show tonight at the Living Room Boynton Beach 1709 N. Congress Ave., livingroomboyntonbeach.com, 561-742-4399
