4. August Art Walk at C&I Studios
6 p.m. Saturday, August 29, at C&I Studios. 541 NW First Ave., Fort Lauderdale. No cover. Visit Facebook.

Embrace Fort Lauderdale’s artsy side at this month’s C&I Studios art walk. Fat Village’s hot spot is having its garden painted, tagged and “mural-ized” by talented local artists such as Gregory Dirr, Todd The Painter and Brandon Shafranski, among others. You can even get in touch with your own artsy side when you grab a canvas yourself. Vendors, DJs and food trucks make this event way cooler than painting at home.

3. Respectable Street's 28th anniversary block party featuring the Misfits
8 p.m. Saturday, August 29 at Respectable Street. 518 Clematis St., West Palm Beach. No cover. Visit Facebook

West Palm’s Respectable Street is turning 28 this Saturday in the most fitting way possible. The block party will be complete with 28 local bands on five stages, including Astari Nite, Riot Act and Shotgun Betty. Punk gods The Misfits will be featured on the main stage towards the end of the night. Don’t forget about the open bar from 8 until 9 p.m. as well as the free cheesy goodness that is pizza.

2. Hoot Wisdom at The Funky Biscuit
8 p.m. Saturday, August 29, at the Funky Biscuit. 303 SE Mizner Blvd., Boca Raton. $5 cover. Visit Facebook

Two artists will be jamming out in the name of FAU's Hoot/Wisdom Recordings at Boca Raton’s Funky Biscuit. Revving up the night is solo artist Grace Kimmel who will be followed by the bluesy reggae band Tame the Lyons.
