With a miraculous cold front finally hanging out over our lovely are, there’s no better time to catch a holiday special, particularly one making it into theaters for a special event screening. The special in question is none other than Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat’s Sherlock: The Abominable Bride.

That’s right! The latest installment of Sherlock, which is the only episode coming fans’ way between the season three finale and the season four premiere in 2017, is hitting the big screen all over the U.S. on Tuesday, January 5, and Wednesday, January 6. BBC Worldwide North America, Fathom Events, and Masterpiece on PBS are celebrating the series’ feature-length episode by showcasing it at 7:30 p.m. on both of those dates.

The series — which has burrowed into the lives and homes of thousands of individuals who likely binge-watched it on Netflix — takes this special opportunity to place the duo in an alternate time period. Imagining himself in 1890s London, Sherlock (Benedict Cumberbatch) finds himself solving mysteries as usual with Watson (Martin Freeman), with their newest case involving a consumptive bride gone mad who managed to murder her husband after supposedly committing suicide hours prior.

While criticism for the episode has been mixed, it has been dubbed the kind of fan-service heavy work that viewers who unabashedly love the series will find themselves thrilled to watch. And having premiered on January 1 on both the U.S. and U.K. small screens, the two screenings will be one of few chances that audiences will have to see the episode before its next and last televised showing on Sunday, January 10, at 10 p.m. — and the only opportunity to see it on the big screen.

More exciting is the fact that the theatrical premiere and its subsequent theatrical encore will also be extended editions of the episode, featuring 20 minutes of additional footage unavailable on the PBS and BBC showings. This includes a guided set tour of 221B Baker Street with executive producer and cowriter Steven Moffat, as well as a making-of short starring both of the series’ lead actors.
