Life in South Florida is stressful. While Miami-Dade might be the best place to boost your blood pressure, Broward and Palm Beach have their fair share of anxiety-inducing situations. From turnpike gridlock to new developments to disastrous legislation (thanks Rick Scott) — we've all got a lot to deal with.

Rather than reducing stress via social lubricants or other illicit substances, practicing yoga is a much healthier (and less expensive) alternative. Broward and Palm Beach counties are home to a lengthy list of yoga studios, and here are ten of the best.

10. Yoga One
613 N. 21st Ave., Hollywood. Call 954-929-9642, or visit Yoga1.net
This community-minded studio is known for its class themes — a topic of focus or intention each teacher addresses when the class kicks off. Students dig the introspective nature of these "themes," as well as the unique teaching styles of each instructor (check out Dr. Steve's classes if you like to laugh). From restorative to gentle to aligned power — Yoga One has options for everyone.

9. Kate Yoga
4761 N .Ocean Drive, Fort Lauderdale. Call 954-545-5582, or visit KateYogaStudio.com.
This boutique spot is all about welcoming, positive energy. Regulars call it "addictive," and are all about the inviting atmosphere and personal attention. Classes range from hot power flow to restorative yoga to non-heated power hour, and all levels are encouraged. The studio also offers teacher training, and hosts workshops on totally interesting topics like yoga anatomy and chakra journey, among others.

8. The Yoga Joint
6131 N. Federal Highway, Fort Lauderdale.  Call 954-916-7253, or visit TheYogaJoint.com.
If you like heat (you live in South Florida, how could you not?), this is your spot. This upscale studio has three locales: two in Laudy and one in Boca, and all are big on rising temps. There's also a non-heated space for teacher trainings and specialized classes, but sweat sessions are what this chain is known for. Its signature class, Hot Fusion Flow, is an all-levels session set to music, with roots in Ashtanga, Bikram, Hatha, and Anusara traditions. They also do retreats, and yoga in paradise is pretty amazing.

7. Anuttara Yoga Shala
620 SE 10th St., Deerfield Beach. Call 954-596-8676, or visit AnuttaraYoga.com.
True to its traditions, yoga isn't just a physical activity — it's a spiritual one, too. And that's a big part of the practice at Anuttara, where classes are about more than just headstands and flat abs. This chill, spacious studio boasts both heated and unheated rooms, and offers everything from meditation and restorative flows to yoga barre and power flow. Particularly unusual are the core classes, Anuttara Sapta Krama Vinyasa, a seven-sequence, aerobic flow that works through three levels of intensity; and Anuttara Raja Yoga, a heat and gravity-focused practice that works with connective tissues to aid range of motion and flexibility. They also offer teacher trainings, all with an om-inspired positive attitude. There's even a cafe on the premises (in partnership with Green Bar Kitchen), so you can get your vegan eats on post-savasana.
6. Yoga Fox
1405 N. Federal Highway, Delray Beach. Call 561-703-1236, or visit YogaFox.com
This uber-popular spot (named after founder Keith Fox) offers classes in two locales — at the famous Colony Hotel in downtown Delray, and at the Buddha Lounge studio (including an outdoor Ganesha Garden space). There are sessions set to music, teacher trainings, private sessions, retreats, and class options including vinyasa flow, power hour, sunrise flow, teen yoga, and more.
5. Zeal Yoga
4550 Donald Ross Road, Ste 113, Palm Beach Gardens. Call 561-557-5879, or visit ZealYoga.com.
This charming studio keeps it simple. Instructors stick mainly to vinyasa and meditation — with some yin and core power hour thrown in. Students are all about the warm, welcoming environment, and the no-frills approach to practice. Yoga is supposed to be about personal transformation — mind, body, and spirit — and that's the ultimate goal at Zeal.
4. Yogi Plus Yoga Studio
6329 W. Commercial Blvd, Tamarac. Call 754-235-3353, or visitYogiPlusYoga.com.
Thanks to the mass media (and stock photography), yoga practice is too often associated with one, super-svelte body type. But yoga is for everyone — all ages, shapes, sizes, and abilities, and that's what Yogi Plus Yoga Studio is all about. This spot teaches Ashtanga, power yoga, yoga sculpt, and yoga 101, among other classes — and they promise to make the poses work for all participants.

3. Bindu Yoga Studio
5808 S. Dixie Highway, West Palm Beach. Call 561-233-9882, or visit Bindu-Studio.com.
Regardless of level, personal preference, or physical condition — Bindu has an option for every yogi. From the Bye Bye Boo Boo Yoga to Rise and Shine Flow to the $10 Community Yoga Flow, the studio is accessible to all, and big on diverse offerings. There are even Saturday flow sessions set to live music each month, so you can feed all your senses simultaneously.

2. Palm Beach Athletic Wear and Yoga Studio
4767 PGA Blvd., Palm Beach Gardens. Call 561-329-1711, or visit YogaPBAW.com.
As the only aerial yoga studio in the Palm Beaches, this spot is entirely unique. For those unfamiliar with the practice, aerial yogis use a soft hammock in practice, meaning lots of the class happens off the ground. This increasingly popular style is only one aspect of what the studio offers — there are also classes in gentle yoga, vinyasa, heated yoga, yin, and more — and soon barre and Pilates will be added to the schedule. The locale is also home to an athletic wear store, so consider this your one-stop studio shop.

1. Om Yoga & Wellness Studios
410 Northwood Road, West Palm Beach. Call 561-410-0162, or visit OmYogaWellness.com.
Tucked into the historic Northwood neighborhood of WPB, Om is all about inclusivity. Clients rave about the accessible nature of this studio, and the owner (Lourdes Sanchez) describes it as "granola." This place isn't about cute clothes or trendy mats — it's about actual practice, for any body (literally). Regardless of shape, experience, or age, Om welcomes all. (Another plus is that they supply mats, blocks, etc., for no extra charge.) Whatever you need, Om has it — including peace of mind.
