Let's keep the IPA train rolling from last week and head out to Brewzzi in Boca Raton to sample one of their brewmaster's selections, Riding the Gravy Train IPA.

This is a New England-style IPA, one of the most hyped-about beer styles as of late. Brewzzi's brewer Matt Manthe has constructed this one with wheat and oats with a generous dry hopping of Mandarina Bavaria, Centennial, Mosaic, and Azacca hops. These coalesce together to create a hoppy but fruit-forward beer that's reminiscent of the whales (those highly sought after beers) by Trillium, Tree House, and others from up north.

It arrives a cloudy yellow-orange with a wispy white head. Aromas are strong with fresh citrus juice, lots of pineapple, and a bit of peaches and other pulpy fruit. The mouthfeel is very full and thick from all of the wheat and oats present, which gives it a juicy character. It balances the sweet and fruity with a small lingering bitterness that persists after each sip. Smooth and chewy, it's a beer that's content to be sipped idly at the bar.

Riding the Gravy Train is 7% ABV and comes in at 60 IBUs, and is currently only available at Brewzzi in Boca Raton.

Brewzzi Boca Raton is located at 2222 Glades Road, Boca Raton. Call 561-392-2739, or visit brewzzi.com.
