If people-watching is the unofficial sport of South Beach – and we can all agree that it is, right? – then Wednesday kicks off our own personal Olympics. Miami Beach International Fashion Week brings faaaah-bulous fashions from around the globe to our shores – as well as plenty of designers, models, and other hilariously beautiful people, all ripe for the mocking. If you don't spend some time on Lincoln Road checking out the influx of weirdos this week, you are no fun at all. But there's more to this Fashion Week than style schadenfreude. Miami Beach International Fashion Week is actually the biggest international and Hispanic fashion event in the country; this year, it'll feature designers from as far away as the Kingdom of Bahrain and as close as our very own city. It all kicks off tonight with a swimwear showcase, followed by a show featuring Floridian designers, including local talents like Viviana G. for Petit Pois, Kayce Armstrong for Art of Shade, and Ema Savahl Couture. Miami Beach International Fashion Week runs through March 24. Tickets cost $50 to $500. Visit miamifashionweek.com.
