You don't have to be as hungry as a horse to find a meal at the Village at Gulfstream, the multibillion-dollar outdoor shopping expansion to horseracing's Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach.
The following happy-hour deals will do the intended (make you happy) without warranting a grimace when the check comes:
This Italian eatery features a bar menu that starts at $2.95 on weekdays from 3 to 7 p.m. Whether you crave beef carpaccio, miniburgers, or shrimp cocktail, pop in for a light snack before dinner.
Try any regional beer like Jupiter's Monk in a Trunk for three bucks from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. PrimeBar also features $5 select appetizers and any wine by the glass for $5 as well. Tuesday is burger night, as all burgers, from fried egg to prime dip, are $5 after 5 p.m. (up to an $8 savings).
Ride the bull before you sink your teeth into $5 appetizers like Texas wings or roasted chicken flatbread and half-priced drinks from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday. Cadillac Ranch also features seven menu items for $7 before 7 p.m. on weekdays (that's a tongue twister). If that's not enough, those 21 and over receive $3 bull rides on Fridays.
If something looks expensive, then it most likely is at III Forks. This Texan/Floridian steak house has a happy hour, but you'll have to "fork" over a bit more for the goods. III Forks features popcorn box shrimp for $9 as well as a drink pick from the 1,500-bottle wine cellar for $5. These specials run daily from 4 to 7 p.m.
With more than 250 draft beers on tap and a great selection of American fare, the Yard House features half-priced appetizers and pizzas, which include chicken lettuce wraps, jerk wings, and Blue Moon crab cakes from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday to Friday. To wash it down, drink specials include $3.50 domestic pints and $2 off wine by the glass.
