Who's it gonna be -- New England, with its creamy chowders, lobster rolls, and clam bakes? Or New York, home to hot dogs, pizza, and wings?
Oh, sorry. You thought we were talking about the Patriots and the Giants?
We're looking forward to the game, sure, but we gotta admit, it's all about the food for us. Chef Charles Coe, co-owner of Russell's Blue Water Grill and host of TV's Catch, Clean, Cook, agrees.
That's why he's hosting a "Battle of the Cuisines" for the big game. Coe is having a cuisine smackdown during his restaurant's unique watch party. From 5 p.m. until the end of the game, enjoy à la carte offerings designed to get you in your team's spirit (though we won't tell if we spy someone in a Patriots jersey eating a Coney Island red hot).
The menu includes:
New England Clam Chowder versus Manhattan Clam Chowder
Classic Lobster Roll versus Coney Island Dog
Whole Belly Fried Ipswich Clams versus New York Giant Buffalo Chicken Wings
New England Lobster Clam Bake versus Snowbird Pizza (cheese or pepperoni).
Beverages go head to head with:
Cape Codder (vodka and cranberry juice) versus Long Island Iced Tea
Sam Adam's Boston Lager versus Brooklyn Brewery Lager.
The regular à la carte dinner menu will also be available throughout the evening.
