There are new battles being fought this week in the continuing war between David Mainiero (better known as David Manero, the name under which he conducts business) and former business partners John Rosatti and Lee Goldberg.
Mainiero -- who had his hand in projects like The Office in Delray Beach and BurgerFi -- has filed a counterclaim against Rosatti and Goldberg, according to the Palm Beach Post. The pair initially filed a lawsuit in April against Mainiero for claims of embezzlement and money laundering. The suit also names Mainiero's wife, Lynn, and his son, David, as well as their companies, for funneling money away from various joint projects in order to
fund Mainiero's personal interests.
Mainiero's counterclaim says the allegations against him were created as a means to boot him from the business entreprises and that Goldberg and Rosatti fabricated these stories because they were no longer in need of his services.
Clean Plate Charlie is looking into this story and what -- if any -- impact these suits will have on the restaurants involved.
