Though Georgia Pig on State Road 7 is better known for its barbecue and thick-cut bacon at breakfast, it's highly recommended for fried chicken Fridays, when lines start at 11 a.m. Eight bucks gets light and dark meat, rice and gravy, and black-eyed peas, which can be swapped for potato salad or cole slaw.

Does a barbecue joint serve the best fried chicken in town? We'll find out this afternoon.  It's made in a fryer, not a cast-iron skillet, so we're already skeptical. A Lee Brothers tip: all fried chicken is infinitely better with hot pepper vinegar.
