It's Monday, and yet, it's still the weekend - what a beautiful conundrum. Assuming you were given the day off and don't have a fancy pool party to crash, there are a few options about town with which to entertain yourself.

If you're running low on funds after a weekend of partying, swing by Nick's New Haven-Style Pizzeria & Bar in Boca Raton to pick up a free slice of apizza today until 6 p.m. as part of the store's grand opening celebration. Limit one per person, though maybe you could score more if you're one for clever disguise?

There's also a Labor Day pig roast and barbecue all day at Muddy Waters Restaurant & Raw Bar in Deerfield Beach with drink specials and a hell of a lot of red meat available for consumption. After the jump, find seven more food and drink -- mostly drink -- events this week in Broward and Palm Beach Counties.

Tuesday:

III Forks Uncorked -- Ease into your blissfully shortened week with a free wine tasting at III Forks in Hallandale from 5 to 6:30 p.m. On the tasting menu are E. Guigal Saint-Joseph Blanc and Peter Lehmann Eight Songs Shiraz, plus passed hors d'oeuvres. If you decide to stick around for more, you'll get half off a full glass or bottle.

Dogfish Head Brew Night -- The summer of the tap takeovers continues with Dogfish Head taking the reins from 7 to 9 p.m. at World of Beer in Coconut Creek. Featured drafts will include the 90 Minute and 120 Minute IPAs, Midas Touch, Indian Brown Ale, Theobrahma, Namaste, Burton Baton, Chateau Jiahu, and, my personal favorite, the crisp and hoppy 60 Minute IPA.

Wednesday:

Hot Summer Night -- "OK. Who left a barbecue hand print on the Chagall?" So, BBQ and fine art may not seem like the most natural coupling, but you can probably rest assured that the eats at Boca Raton Museum of Art's Hot Summer Night event will be kept far, far, away from the priceless works of art. The evening, hosted from 5:30 to 8 p.m. in the outdoor sculpture garden, includes steel drum music, barbecue from Mississippi Sweets, wine, plus a look at a collection of vintage surfboards. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Knock off $5 if you are museum member.

Thursday:

FLIPANY's Chefs Up Front dinner -- Voyeurists are welcome at this fundraising dinner, which pairs ten South Florida chefs with a table of ten where they will prepare, tableside, a special meal matched with wine. Obsess over how your table's culinary star prepares each dish and know that ticket proceeds benefit Share Our Strength's Cooking Matters program. The dinner is at 6 p.m. at the W. Fort Lauderdale hotel. Tickets are $150 per person. Buy tickets online.

Networking opportunity at III Forks -- Business chatter and serious drinks? How very Don Draper. If you're the sort who likes to kill two birds with one stone, the networking cocktail hour at III Forks in Palm Beach Gardens will allow you to add new contacts to your iPhone and enjoy a cocktail and appetizers from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Admission is $10 if you order a ticket by Wednesday, or $15 after. It's $20, cash only, at the door, but reservations are preferred.

Friday:

Franciscan Wine Blending -- The kids are (finally) back in school (thank GOD) so perhaps it's good timing for you to hit the books--or, er, the bottle. Morton's, The Steakhouse in Fort Lauderdale is hosting a Meritage Wine Blending Seminar with Franciscan Oakville Estate Magnificat, served with Morton's hors d'oeuvres. Tickets are $45 for the event, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Celeb Chef Demo with Floyd Cardoz -- Reality food show devotees can share kitchen space with "Top Chef Masters" season three contestant Floyd Cardoz during a cooking demo at 6:30 p.m. at the Publix Apron's Cooking School in Boca Raton. The chef will be whipping up summery treats like watermelon and lime salad, grilled black pepper shrimp, sweet spice short ribs and vanilla bean kulfi, among other dishes. The cost is $50 and pre-registration is your best bet.
