Zon-te: That (not Zan-te or Exan-te or whatever) is how you pronounce Xante, a brand of Swedish liqueur that's moving stateside with this utterly LOL-tastic ad campaign. Note the image to your right -- that was not Photoshopped, folks. This is what ad execs think makes you want to buy liquor.
Anywho, Xante will be hosting a mixology course tonight at 5:30 at YOLO in Fort Lauderdale, which will feature Swedish mixologist Ricky Broni talking shop. Xante's CEO, Adele Nilsson, will also be in attendance, presumably drawn in on a carriage pulled by a half-dozen bare-chested Swedes. Or is that Xwedes? Show up yourself and you'll get free booze and light grub. Correction, the event is by private invite only. You still can, however, show up at YOLO and try to find a bare-chested Swede of your own.

Can't make it to Italy's Carnevale Festival this year? Check out Zuccarelli's of Palm Beach Gardens version of the pre-Lent spectacle this Thursday, January 14 at 6 p.m. (5530 PGA Blvd. in Palm Beach Gardens). Also on Thursday, Food Network's Trevor Corson will be at Morikami Japanese Gardens dishing on sushi -- specifically, sustainability within the practice. Corson's the author of books such as The Secret Life of Lobsters and The Story of Sushi: An Unlikely Saga of Raw Fish and Rice, and a huge proponent of sustainable fishing practices -- he's even been featured on Japanese television talking about the plight of the way, way, way over-fished bluefin tuna.
