• Matisyahu in the sky with... Cajun-rubbed cowgirl rib eyes and ahi tuna? That's the idea, anyway, as the Hasidic reggae artist will perform a special, free show at Sky309, also known as Roxy's Rooftop Bar in West Palm Beach. The food and drink outfit will be unveiling a new menu of big and small plates on March 11, with live cuts from Matisyahu's new album serving as backdrop. Seatings are between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m., and dinner guests will get a prime seat for the jams -- all you've got to do is make a reservation. Visit roxyspub.com for more info.
Lots more food events after the cut.
• The Green Gourmet
is now expanding to include sit-down dinner service. Chef-owner Joey
Giannuzzi added a number of tables inside and out and will be serving
dishes like vanilla rum-glazed Caribbean mahi mahi with warm five-bean
salad and avocado mousse, organic oven-roasted chicken with baked new
potatoes, and pomegranate-glazed wild king salmon with toasted almonds
and golden raisin cous cous. Giannuzzi is also organizing a Sunday
Green Market that will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of the
store.
• Japanese hibachi chain Benihana is offering a -- get
this -- Saint Patrick's Day special throughout the month of March in
each of its South Florida restaurants.
Diners can share a shrimp and chicken dinner for two for $35, complete
with green tea. A host of specialty cocktails to coincide with the
holiday include the "emerald punch bowl" made with Midori and "kiwi
crush" with Kettle One Vodka.
• Good news for fans of cocktails and small bites -- Steak 954
is adding a Sunset Menu to its repertoire. The steakhouse from Stephen
Starr will now stay open from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. daily and offer a
selection of raw bar items plus plates such as big eye tuna tacos and
dry-aged beef sliders, plus specialty cocktails from the bar and a
small but competent craft beer list, too.
• Join celebrity
