EL CRISTO from Miami New Times on Vimeo.
Though Little Havana is full of restaurants, yesterday's Calle Ocho festival saw many of Eighth Street's eateries closed for the party. El Cristo was wide open for business -- including a vendor tent out in front of the establishment serving roast chicken, fried pork, and skewered meats. El Cristo also offered a traditional Central American salad that the restaurant's representative above described as "not even Cuban."
Still, El Cristo kept it real, kept it moving, and kept its patrons happy. Here's a map of El Cristo's location.
Check it out; even Google maps recognizes SW Eighth Street as Calle Ocho.
