Damn pizza thieves!

In case you were wondering, the Midtown Miami welcome wagon is in business. And Pizzafiore, server of amazing Italian food and just one of many new fast-food joints that has popped up near the New Times offices, has received the first dose of reality that often comes with setting up shop in a new area.

They wuz robbed.

On Sunday, April 29, while most of Miami cowered under a power-killing late-night downpour, the glass door to Pizzafiore was unceremoniously smashed in. The thief has yet to be apprehended but Arcoub Abderrahim, owner of this and two other locations (he only owns the name of the South Beach location, so no complaints about their soggy pizza crusts), believes that he knows who did the deed.

He lays the blame on certain 300-pound delivery driver who will for now remain anonymous. Apparently this guy worked for three days, the robbery happened, and the guy never showed up again. Talk about Employee of the Year. This guy stole the cash register, two bags of shrimp, and a bag of french fries. So if anyone knows someone who suddenly came into a lot of shrimp, call crimestoppers -- or just tell him he’s a douchebag.

And to Pizzafiore, we got your back, just keep making those bomb calzones. --Raina McLeod
