One of the great things about BX Beer Depot is that it's more than just a place to find a wide selection of craft beer for sale. It's also a destination for like-minded guys and gals to gather and discuss brews: what they like, what they don't like, and what they downright love. No matter what time of day you stop by, there's sure to be a flock of beer fanatics huddled around the countertop, sharing their thoughts on the latest brew from Dogfish Head or Stone or trading their secrets for stellar homebrew. And since BX has a consume-on-premises license, there's always a handful of folks sharing small pours out of 12-ounce bottles and giving their own Beer Advocate-style take on them. I have to admit, I'd probably be there every day if Lake Worth weren't so damned far away.

Lucky for me, I can now get a little taste of that scene from home. BX has started doing video podcasts on its blog, each featuring group discussions of beers as they hit the shelves. Aside from getting some qualified impressions from seasoned tasters, watching the podcasts is a great way to see what's new with the store's ever-changing stock. Scroll down the blog a little farther and you can see BJCP-style scoring of brews from a variety of tasters. That way, when you do make your next trip in, you won't have to toil for an hour over whether to get the Stone Oaked Arrogant Bastard or the Rogue Imperial Pilsner.
