Send your own nominations to [email protected].No. 84: Guacamole From Dos Caminos
You've barely been seated when your servers start talking about it. They giggle amongst themselves, because they know how happy you're going to be soon.
The guacamole at this dark, upscale Mexican restaurant on the beach is deserves a votive nook in the Great Avocado Hall of Wonders.
The fresh avocado plop into a mortar so it can get all pestled. A secret coalition of herbs and spices (OK, not so secret) is introduced. There's an art to the way it's mashed together -- the trick is in the wrist -- and a science to the ingredients.
The result -- as silky as a baby blanket -- will have you nodding your head at the giggling servers. In agreement, and in jealousy. They get to eat this stuff all the time.
