As a countdown to the Best of Broward Palm Beach 2010, coming in

May, Clean Plate Charlie is serving up a hundred of our favorite dishes in South Florida.

No. 22: Pâté Trio from Le Patio

Served in an ornate, porcelain duck, the pâté trio from Le Patio in Wilton Manors is both 

cute and delicious. For only $6.50 you get a generous slab each of

duck, pork, and chicken liver pâté, each hand-made in house by owners

Veronique Leroux and Jean Doherty. The duck is unctuous and gamy, the

chicken succulent and rich. The pork, studded with bits of pork fat, is

exemplary. Slather the trio on crusty French bread, with a little Dijon

mustard and some dainty cornichons. As you eat, you can soak in the

beauty of the restaurant's back patio with tables made from old sewing

machines and a picket fence lined with rustic French beer signs.
