Support the independent voice of South Florida and help keep the future of New Times free.
Radiohead's The King of Limbs deserves a dusting off between now and February 2012, because the gents are doing a tour of the United States. This is not an Occupy Wall Street hoax! The news comes from the band's publicity firm. Radiohead has indeed published the first nine dates of that excursion, and the trek begins in South Florida at American Airlines Arena.
Additionally, a song called "Daily Mail," which they band performed during its late-September shows in New York, is circulating via NPR. With its piano-based arrangement it's sort of like "Pyramid Song Part 2," but definitely something to look forward to.
No support acts have been announced just yet. Since this is the first time Radiohead has done a U.S. tour in three years -- many of among us witnessed the splendor of the Cruzan Amphitheatre show in May of 2008 -- even if they had Nickelback as an opener fans would still be just as jubilant today. Update: Oklahoma avant rock act Other Lives has been announced as the opening act for all dates.
We suspect that some are doing a little "Lotus Flower" jig right now.
