Slate recently reported Miami has the worst drivers in the country, and kinky party stalwart Fetish Factory cares too much about its faithful merrymakers to put them at the frontlines of such highway hell.
After a last-minute location change last week from Fort Lauderdale's Exit 66 to Grand Central in Miami for its annual "Back to School" party, the Factory announced it would charter a bus for both the safety and fun of its participants.
"This is going to be a party bus. Trust me," said Factory owner Glenn. "But safety is first. We know people might have too much fun, and this is far cheaper than getting a hotel room."
It's true, driving home from Miami to Fort Lauderdale, dodging the worst drivers in the country, hardly sounds like a happy ending to an eventful night out.
Seats cost $15 per person, and so far 20 people have RSVP'd for 57 spots. However Glenn says he'll reserve it if 50 people confirm by tomorrow.
"We're willing to lose some money," he said about not filling the last seven seats. The change of venue and option of transport, he conceded, came on short notice after all.
But if all the people who have "bitched and ranted" in the past about the drive to Miami actually step up, he said, it will be a "silly and fun" time all-around.
"A bunch of shiny lunatics are going to load into this bus," he promised.
