It'll take a certain type of New Found Glory fan to remember what the Coral Springs pop-punk band is aiming for in the clip for recent single "Radiosurgery," but that's OK. Now that the guys have aged a bit, making a reference to the 1988 Ramones video for "I Wanna Be Sedated," helmed by Car 54, Where Are You? auteur Bill Fishman, is needed to show that they're thinking outside of the hypercurrent box.

Instead of eating corn flakes at the kitchen table like their punk forefathers, Chad Gilbert and company have opted to seat themselves on a patterned duvet in a large hotel room. And then the party with at least 100 extras begins. As the band's October 16 stop at Revolution approaches, peek at why they can have a tour name contending that "Pop Punk's Not Dead."

Here is the New Found Glory video for "Radiosurgery," which is decidedly overstated. There are instruments, balloon-boobed groupies, football players, and robots!

And now, the more "sedate" inspiration.

New Found Glory. With Set Your Goals, the Wonder Years, Man Overboard, and This Time Next Year. 5 p.m. Sunday, October 16, at Revolution, 200 W. Broward Blvd., Fort Lauderdale. Tickets cost $18.99. Click here.
