If J. Cole is sick of hearing Drake comparisons in the media, he's just suffered the worst possible break -- pun intended. The Roc Nation rapper, who recently denied rumors that he angered his boss Jay-Z by making a sex tape with Rihanna, says on Twitter that he spent last night in the emergency room after breaking his leg. What was later called a "minor setback" still means that two Florida dates this weekend promoting his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story, have been postponed.
The postponement affects tonight's show at Orlando's Beacham Theatre and Sunday's performance at Revolution in Fort Lauderdale.
A little history: Cole's buddy Drake had a couple of costly leg injuries a couple of years ago and had to perform at the BET Awards that year sitting on a stool. But he has rebounded nicely. Let's hope that things heal up equally nicely for currently sidelined Cole, whom we interviewed back in July. And let's especially hope that Jay-Z didn't break his leg.
J. Cole has already announced the rescheduled dates on his Facebook page:
Dueto an injury sustained last night, J. Cole's shows originally scheduled
for this weekend in Orlando and Ft. Lauderdale/Miami have been
postponed. Orlando has been rescheduled for September 30. Ft.
Lauderdale/Miami has been rescheduled for October 1. Sorry for any
inconvenience this may have caused.
