Odd Future has unveiled an impressive Golf Wang North American Tour. What began in the wee hours of Thursday as a delightful U.S. map covered with kitten faces is realized. The full tour schedule was tweeted by Tyler, the Creator last night.
Aside from it being Wellington resident Vanilla Ice's birthday, the Halloween show in Miami should be off the chain for myriad reasons. The Los Angeles rap group is already known for its wild stage show, and the potential for Halloween high jinks has already been the subject of an amusing bit of fan fiction about Tyler, the Creator; Hodgy Beats; Domo Genesis; and Frank Ocean (as JFK, natch) dressing up as their favorite U.S. presidents.
Needless to say, it's time to start assembling an effective Odd Future getup for Halloween night. Follow our costume recommendations, and check out the full dates below.
Option 1: Buffalo Bill
At this point, we're all well aware of Tyler, the Creator's Goblin album cover art. William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody, known as a hero of the Wild West and the American Civil War, eventually lived to be a white-bearded 70-year-old, but it's an image of his 19-year-old self that will forever live in Odd Future lore. In this case, a modest vintage suit with a tiny bow tie will suffice, and hang your hair out the car window all the way to the show to replicate the effect of riding a horse very fast.
Option 1.5: Wild West Show star Buffalo Bill
As we can see, Buffalo Bill eventually became a style inspiration for Danny McBride/Kenny Powers. You still have few months to grow out your facial hair and practice steely glances.
Option 2: Thurnis Haley
There's almost certainly going be a shortage on knee-high striped tube socks come October. The rest of the gear for Tyler, the Creator's golf-obsessed alter ego can be obtained in your great-uncle's closet. Leave your clubs in the trunk, though.
Option 3: Left Brain With a Blue Face
Option 4: Earl Sweatshirt
Risky. If you do this one too convincingly, you'll risk a riot.
Option 5: The Classic
Step one: Buy this ski mask for $6.40. Step two: Draw an upside-down cross between the eyes with Magic Marker. Step three: Swag.
