Team Beyonce made the official announcement on Monday that the R&B superstar has decided to cut management ties with her father Mathew Knowles (and not just because he spells his name with only one T). She's not the only Destiny's Child member to go independent woman on Mathew Knowles, in 2009 Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams also went their separate ways. Both Beyonce and Mathew are claiming this decision is strictly business related and the relationship has not been damaged at all.

"I've only parted ways with my father on a business level," Beyonce said in her statement on Monday. "He is my father for life and I love my dad dearly. I am grateful for everything he has taught me"

Mathew Knowles has managed Beyonce's career since day one from her start in Destiny's Child to her rise to the top of the music industry as a solo artist. In addition to her father, Beyonce's mother Tina is also heavily involved with her career working as a stylist. In 2000, the two launched the clothing line House of Dereon -- named for Beyonce's grandmother.

No official new management announcement has been made, however rumors are circulating that husband Jay-Z's company Roc Nation will take on the duties.
