Back in December, the excitement was ramping up for Poison frontman Bret Michaels' Super Cruise. County Grind's Travis Newbill even coined the phrase "Rock of Love... Boat" for the four-day party heading from Miami to Cozumel set for this November. However, further proof that every rose has its prickly thorn, the cruise has been canceled amid "lack of participation."

We're guessing more Poison fans are likely to want to opt for the Kiss Kruise for a substitute, as opposed to the Weezer Cruise, but we'll throw those options out there.

TMZ reports that Michaels attributes the cancellation to a promoter who "feels he can take advantage of both artists and fans." Additionally, he says, "I want to reassure everyone that I have went out of my way to try and make this the best fan cruise on the high seas... Know that I am working hard to right this wrong."

Everyone who bought a ticket will get his money refunded, he says.
