Ten Must-See Concerts Coming to Broward and West Palm Beach in 2015

The future is so close; at least the future Marty McFly time-traveled to with his flying DeLorean in Back to the Future 2.

Yes, 2015 was the setting of the far-off future in the 1989 sequel that seemed so far away that Zemeckis imagined we'd have skateboards that defy gravity, shoes that could tie themselves, and the Chicago Cubs winning the World Series.

While these predictions may never come to fruition, we figured out ten concerts planned for 2015 in Broward and Palm Beach counties that you can count on in the future, with or without hoverboards.

10. Gregg Allman at Hard Rock Live

January 4

After 45 years of making sweet Southern rock, the Allman Brothers Band finally called it quits last October. Luckily, that doesn't mean you can't catch surviving member Gregg perform all the band's staples, from "Midnight Rider" to "Ramblin' Man," between a game of roulette and blackjack this week at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino‎ in Hollywood.

9. T.I. featuring 2 Chainz at BB&T Center

January 24

The self-proclaimed "King of the South" will bring the Panthers' arena to its feet his hip-hop hits "Live Your Life," "Dead and Gone," and most probably include a snippet of his part in Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines." T.I. is cool and all, but with fellow Georgian 2 Chainz in tow, this promises to be one "different" and meaty show.

8. Against Me! At Culture Room

February 20

The Gainesville punks made headlines and topped 2014's best album lists with Transgender Dysphoria Blues, Against Me!'s first album since singer/guitarist Laura Jane Grace came out as transgendered. The band's show at Culture Room last year got rave reviews, and we're certain it will again when it returns to the scene of the rockin' crime for an encore performance this February.

7. Coastline Festival at Pompano Beach Amphitheatre

February 22

Just a month ago, Wayne Coyne took the stage at the exclusive Jeffrey Deitch-hosted event at the Raleigh Hotel during Art Basel with Miley Cyrus. That was cool, but won't it be so much better to see him lead the psychedelic band with which he first found fame and put Oklahoma City on the map?

The second edition of the Coastline Festival offers South Florida chance to see the Flaming Lips live along with acclaimed earnest North Carolina band Future Islands, Young the Giant, and Sean Lennon's new project, the Ghost of a Sabre Tooth Tiger.

6. Logic at Culture Room

February 26

Obsessed with Seinfeld and old-school hip-hop? So is Logic. The rapper's preferences seem to run much older than his 24 years. The Maryland-bred MC's youth and good taste make for a formidable combination. Check out his debut album, Under Pressure, before the show at Culture Room.

5. Aesop Rock at Revolution Live

March 6

Another show for the hip-hop heads is Aesop Rock at Revolution. The San Francisco-based underground hip-hop maestro will be taking his Bestiary Tour to Fort Lauderdale with Rob Sonic and Homeboy Sandman hyping up the crowd beforehand.

4. Elvis Costello at Broward Center for the Performing Arts

March 18

The English, onetime new-wave superstar can give a master class on rock stars aging gracefully. He continues to write and perform new material so that when you attend one of his concerts, you're not stuck listening to a simple karaoke performances of his greatest hits. But don't worry: He still often includes "Pump It Up" and "Alison" on his set list.

3. Tortuga Music Festival at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park

April 11-12

Country music fans, we did not forget you. Held on the beach each year for the past two, the Tortuga Music Festival hopes to raise awareness and proceeds for the health of the ocean through music. This year, it called up Kenny Chesney, the Zac Brown Band, and Jake Owen for two days of beachside celebration.
