Michael McClintock, 21, found out a pretty successful method of being held without bond on a capital sex-battery charge -- by allegedly telling the cops he was having sex with an 11-year-old girl, but she started it.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office didn't much like that response.

The 11-year-old girl went to the sheriff's office on November 30, telling detectives that while she was staying at a friend's house over the summer, McClintock "had sexual relations with her on multiple occasions," police say.

According to the sheriff's office, the "sexual relations" in question occurred between July and August.

On Tuesday, sheriff's deputies went to homes in Silver Springs and Ocklawaha -- northeast and southeast of Ocala, respectively -- looking for McClintock.

"Family members and neighbors reported to detectives that they had seen McClintock acting inappropriately with the juvenile victim," according to the sheriff's office.

Eventually, McClintock contacted the sheriff's office and voluntarily came in for questioning.

At first, he denied having any sort of sexual relationship with the 11-year-old girl, according to the cops.

After further questioning, police say McClintock conceded that he did have sexual relations with the girl, but the sheriff's office says McClintock claimed "he did not initiate it."

McClintock was then booked into the Marion County Jail on the capital sexual-battery charge, and is being held without bond.
