A Walgreens receipt for a box of condoms and a head-butt inside a Smart Car have led the Dolphins to end the Chad Ochocinco/Johnson era in Miami. Just two months after joining his hometown team as a free agent, Johnson was released by the Miami Dolphins following his Saturday night arrest on a domestic violence charge after an altercation with his wife, former reality TV personality, Evelyn Lozada.

According to a Davie police report, the receiver was arrested shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday at his home in Davie on a misdemeanor charge of simple domestic battery for allegedly striking Lozada, whom he married in July of this year. According to the police report, the two got into an altercation after she confronted him about a receipt for a box of condoms she had found.

According to the report, the couple arrived to their Davie home from grocery shopping approximately ten minutes after seven Saturday evening. As Lozada was taking the groceries into the house, she spotted the condom receipt in the trunk of the car. She and Johnson then sat in their Smart Car and discussed their marriage, because there's no better place to have a heated discussion about possible infidelities than inside an insanely cramped vehicle.

It was at this point that things got crazy.

Johnson became upset during the argument and allegedly grabbed Lozada. The report says Johnson hit her with his cranium, causing a three-inch laceration on her head. Chad then began screaming, "I don't give a fuck about my career!"

Lozada got out of the car and ran to a neighbor's house where she called police.

Johnson confirmed to the responding officer that he and Lozada were arguing about the receipt for the box of condoms inside their tiny car. But, according to Johnson's version of things, it was Lozada that head-butted him after she yelled out, "Fuck it!"

Johnson told the cop that he went for a drive around the neighborhood to let his wife calm down.

The responding officer, who saw Lozada's injury, placed the receiver formally known as Ochocinco under arrest for simple domestic battery. Lozada, who pressed charges, was taken to the hospital where she was treated for her injury.

Johnson was released on bail Sunday afternoon. Shortly after that, he was released from the team. The Miami Herald's Armando Salguero reported on his twiter that the decision to give Johnson the boot came from head coach Joe Philbin, with the front office's blessings.

The 34-year old Johnson was expected to be the Dolphins' number one receiver this season. Now, his career may very well have come to an end.

Cobweb mode, indeed.
