A Florida man was talking on his cell phone in Orange Avenue in Orlando on Sunday when he went and allegedly punched a police horse in the rear, according to police.

The mounted cops were trying to clear the streets of pedestrians, since it was 2:45 in the morning.

The horse's name is Captain.

According to wesh.com, 23-year-old Pedro Arzola was walking down the street near Central Boulevard and Orange Avenue in Orlando when the mounted police came clopping down the street and asked him and a large group of pedestrians to clear the street and mosey on out of the area.

Arzola reportedly became enraged by this and struck the horse. The officer was still on the horse when the incident occurred. The report says Arzola was on his cell phone and ignored police commands.

According to police, authorities had to forcefully grab Arzola before handcuffing him after he kidney-punched Captain the Horse.

He finally complied with police and was promptly arrested.

Arzola was charged with attempting to injure a police horse.

This incident brings back memories of when Charles Larkin Cowart, 29, was arrested in Bunnell, which is about 60 miles south of Jacksonville, after he led cops on a chase while he rode a horse through town.

It also reminds us of when another horse got loose from its pen and jumped a fence and accidentally landed in someone's backyard swimming pool.
