A man wearing a hat and shades walked into a Florida Crossfit gym and shot and killed the instructor in front of the stunned and horrified class.

According to reports, Richard Millsap, the owner of Crossfit Mosaic gym in Winter Garden, was in the middle of teaching a Crossfit training class shortly after 6:30 Monday evening when the suspect, described as a black male, shot and killed him before running out and jumping into a getaway car.

There were reportedly six people taking part in Millsap's class at the time.

WESH-TV reports that police believe Milllsap was targeted.

According to another report, one of class participants tried to chase down the suspect but couldn't get to him before he and another unidentified man sped off in a getaway car.

Police say there are plenty of witnesses, but so far no further information on the suspect, his accomplice, or the vehicle have been released.

Police are interviewing the class participants and other potential witnesses.

Messages of shock and condolences over Millsap's murder poured out on social media Tuesday as news of his shooting spread.

From the Orlando Sentinel:

"It was devastating," said Michael Pritzkau, of Winter Garden. "Rich was a big inspiration. He got people going on the right path. A lot of people listened to him and looked up to him."

Pritzkau was not working out when the shooting happened, but he joined more than two dozen others at the gym late Monday to mourn and express condolences as police with flashlights collected statements and canvassed the area for clues.
