Hallandale Beach Police Department needs to be reaccredited.
And it wants to make sure it's doing its job well.
And so, it's going to you, John and Joan Q. Public, to make sure everything is hunky-dory.
The Police Department is asking Hallandale residents to write in their opinions on how cops are doing their jobs, as part of their reaccreditation process.
The Hallandale Beach PD was accredited back in 2007, but it looks like that accredit has expired, so it's time for some new accredit.
A team of assessors -- the guys who accredit stuff -- from the Commission of Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation will be paying the department a visit later this month and will be taking a good hard look at the Hallandale PD's policies, procedures, management, operations, and support services.
There are more than 200 standards the department must comply with to be reaccredited.
