After a grand jury indicted 17-year-old Tyler Hadley last week on two counts of first-degree murder in the hammer killings of his parents, the St. Lucie County State Attorney's Office released hundreds of documents in the case, including pictures from the crime scene.
As a little refresher course, police say Hadley created a Facebook invitation to a party at his
parents' place in mid-July before allegedly taking a 22-inch framing hammer to their
heads, then partied with as many as 60 people at the house until early the next morning -- while his parents' corpses were on the floor in the
bedroom.
Responding to an anonymous tip that the kid had murdered his parents,
police found the bodies of 54-year-old Blake Hadley and 47-year-old
Mary-Jo Hadley dead on the floor of the master bedroom, their bodies
partially covered with "all sorts of household items," cops say.
Police say they found a hammer between the two bodies, and because of
evidence of blunt-force trauma to the heads and bodies of both his parents, cops say the hammer was likely
used to kill them.
The crime scene photos released by the state attorney's office are consistent with the police descriptions of the scene -- random objects and beer bottles scattered throughout the house, as well as what appears to be dried blood spatter on several surfaces.
We'll provide a few of the crime scene photos below, and as a disclaimer, the photos do include images of dried blood:
