Hurricane Michele will be hitting South Florida today as GOP presidential candidate and occasional John Wayne Gacy fan Michele Bachmann has decided to spend an extra day in the Sunshine State.
Bachmann just spent the last three days with some of the more boring stops across the state, including a sandwich shop, two churches, and a dinner with people who don't think evolution should be taught to Florida kids.
Now Bachmann's headed to Naples for the morning and will spend the afternoon in Miami.
According to her schedule, she'll be running a meet-and-greet at the Calistoga Bakery Cafe in Naples at 8 a.m. today for her first stop.
Then Bachmann, who says she still fears the rise of the Soviet Union, will actually see the inside of a museum -- which will likely hold some of the historical facts that seem to escape her.
She's scheduled to be at Miami's Bay of Pigs Museum at noon today, which is probably a great setup for one of those "gotcha" questions from reporters.
Bachmann is then scheduled to hit up the Versailles Restaurant less than two miles away at 1:30 p.m. for another meet-and-greet.
She also gave a gem to St. Petersburg Times reporters yesterday, telling them the Man upstairs is causing natural disasters to get the attention of politicians:
I don't know how much God has to do to get the attention of the politicians. We've had an earthquake; we've had a hurricane. He said, "Are you going to start listening to me here?" Listen to the American people, because the American people are roaring right now. They know government is on a morbid obesity diet and we've got to rein in the spending.
