Barbra Stern, the daughter of Democrat strategist Judy Stern, today followed through on her long-rumored campaign for Florida House district in Fort Lauderdale vacated by Ellyn Bodganoff, who's running for Florida Senate. Barbra Stern was originally a Democrat but she had a fling with the Republican Party that ended just last month. If that sounds familiar, that's because this time last year Judy Stern was strategizing for Scott Israel, a lifetime Republican who finally saw the wisdom of a Democrat-voting majority in Broward County, switching his affiliation in time for the sheriff's race.
Of course, Israel won a grueling Democratic primary last August, only to be defeated in the general election by Al Lamberti. Come to think of it, considering all the friends that Stern has on the Broward County Commission, you can bet she enjoys how commissioners have pummeled him in recent budget talks.
