Florida Atlantic University police have hauled in a freshman fraternity member who they say is responsible for stealing roughly 900 copies of the University Press, then dumping them as a way to suppress the paper's critical coverage of hazing.

Nicholas Cady-Jantzen is that freshman's name. He belongs to Pi Kappa Alpha -- the fraternity whose members are known as Pikes. If Cady-Jantzen's smart, he'll save his skin by telling the dean's office who at the fraternity gave the order. But if he's really smart (and a good Pike), then he'll take the punishment.

Because there's reason to believe that being a good Pike is more important than being a good student. The Pikes have friends in high places, like Charlie Crist, who has given his former frat brothers plenty of jobs.
