FAU head football coach Carl Pelini has resigned, effective immediately, according to ESPN.

A press conference is scheduled for 4:00 p.m.

No reason has yet been given for Pelini's departure, but his 5-15 record in two seasons might be a pretty good indicator.

FAU has only won 2 games thus far this season,

Before taking over the Owls, Pelini worked with his brother Bo as defensive coordinator / defensive line coach at Nebraska.

Very bizarre situation w #FAU. It's like the whole athletic dept has shut off its phone system in wake of Pelini mess.
