And we have a new frontrunner for Florida Father of the Year!
A DeLand Florida man's 10-month-old baby was crying inside a friend's Sha-De-Land mobile home.
And while there are a myriad of things one can do to console a crying baby, such as burping it, feeding it, hugging it, singing to it, walking around with it, putting it in a dark quiet room so it can fall asleep, taking it for a drive until it falls asleep, jingling a set of keys in front of it, giving it a pacifier, change its diaper, give it a nice warm bath, and the like, this guy chose to go another route.
He sat on the baby's head.
Jonathan Savas was arrested and charged with child abuse after a friend of his called the cops on him for sitting on the baby's head.
The friend called police after confronting Savas by telling him that maybe shoving his ass into his baby's face until it couldn't breathe was not the best way to go about shushing it.
According to police, the baby's mother was present when this was happening and told Savas to stop sitting on the baby's head.
"It's my baby," Savas, 24, allegedly responded. "I can do whatever I want."
Sounds reasonable enough!
The caller told police the baby was struggling to breathe, but they delayed in calling authorities because they were afraid of what Savas might do.
According to the report, the baby was naked.
So mayhap putting clothes on it instead of, oh, sitting on its head woulda done the trick.
Savas is being held without bond.
