Once upon a time, Marco "Golden Boy" Rubio was seen as the great Hispanic hope for the Republican Party -- he fell perfectly in line with all the GOP's wonderful ideas, like denying climate change and talking about how bad illegal immigrants were.
But this January, he proposed a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants --- and this flip-flop totally pissed off all the right-wing types who'd supported him.
Now, a group called Floridians for Immigration Enforcement (FLIMEN) is kicking off a "Pink Slip Rubio" campaign against the senator -- AKA "Traitor Marco Rubio," AKA "Marco Rubio Amnesty Man" -- in hopes of pressuring him to resign.
FLIMEN has in the past campaigned against the El Sol Center in Jupiter, which helps match undocumented immigrants with employers and services; and it has pushed for implementation of the e-verfify system that lets employers check a potential worker's immigration status.
On Tuesday, the group intends to demonstrate from noon to 3:30 p.m. outside of a Town Hall meeting featuring Congressman Patrick Murphy (where he is seeking input on budget issues) at the Palm Beach Gardens campus of Palm Beach State College.
In the meantime, if you want to send Rubio a letter telling him that "YOU ARE FIRED" and sign it "feeling betrayed," all you have to do is follow this link.
