One year ago, this ugly scene happened in downtown Fort Lauderdale, as pro-Israel demonstrators clashed with Muslim activists:

And in just a few minutes, the South Floridians for the Safety and Security of Israel are staging another rally, in the same location, near the federal courts building on Broward Boulevard.

A member of that group, Richard Freer, just popped by our office and predicted "jihadists" might crash the party. But Freer also said that Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz was going to be speaking, and her office just told me that's not the case.

Wasserman Schultz will be busy with other Israel-related business. She's leading a congressional delegation to the Middle East on New Year's Day.

In any case, it's sure to be a spirited rally. Be sure to check back with us tomorrow when we hope to have some video of the festivities.
