Ever get so angry at an ex for dumping you that you go out, get wasted, and then develop the nerve to call them and drunkenly rant at how angry you are that they ruined you, and what a total jerk they were to do that, and then you laughed, and cried, and then threw up on your pants?
Well, thanks to a new website, DrunkdialCongress.org, you can do that very thing to a member of Congress. Call 'em up and let 'em know how you really feel about the shutdown.
You'll have to provide your own booze, though. Although they do have a nifty drink recipes page.
The site encourages anyone, be it a furloughed worker being forced to work for free or just anyone fed up at the ridiculousness of Capitol Hill, to use its services.
All you do is enter your phone number, which the site uses to connect you with a member of Congress.
Drunkdial seems to have been born out of the many reports surfacing from D.C. of members of Congress going out and getting sloshed on the government's dime after the shutdown went into effect.
Now that power is being handed back to the people.
There's even a page that offers handy talking points for you, such as:
"You guys think you're the same as the heroes of 9/11. Get a fucking grip."
and:
"I can't watch the panda."
and more serious ones, like:
"How dare you not fund the Veterans."
The site was built by Revolution Technologies, a self-described "leader in cutting-edge progressive strategies for a mobile world."
And, so far, the site seems to be making some drunken noise.

It's a pretty fantastic idea, when you think about it.
Calling your representatives is a fundamental American right and privilege.
Why not do it completely shitfaced?
