Oh, it is a great day to be a Florida wonk! State Sen. Dan Gelber, vying to become U.S. Sen. Dan Gelber in 2010, has announced via blog that he'll be giving updates on the coming legislative session via Twitter, right here.

Most of you know that transparency and an open government process is very important for me. I am excited to use one of the newest tools in online communication because it will allow more Floridians to follow closely the major policy discussions in Tallahassee and offer their opinion on how their leaders should respond.
I have signed up, natch. Gelber is asking his colleagues in the legislature to set up their own Twitter accounts. I predict the idea will be about as popular with Republicans as the Obama stimulus package.
