The race between incumbent Congressman Ron Klein and challenger Allen West keeps narrowing, with the West campaign claiming to have raised nearly twice the amount of campaign money as Klein during the first quarter of 2010.

West reports $838,449 in fundraising totals between January and the end of March, while Klein reports having raised just $456,262.

What used to be a big advantage for Klein in terms of cash-on-hand has now shrunk. Klein continues to enjoy a big advantage in cash on hand, with $2.65 million to spend compared to West's $2.06 $1.1 million.

The 22nd Congressional District stretches from Fort Lauderdale in the south up the coast to Jupiter.

Correction: A previous version of this post said that West had more than $2 million in cash on hand. That was incorrect. The $2 million figure is the total amount West has raised during the campaign cycle. We regret the error.
